The Inquiry closed today and the Inspector will now write his report, which will be submitted to the Secretary of State to make the decision. The Programme Officer will from this point be unable to accept any further evidence. All correspondence should be sent to the Transport and Works Act Orders Unit, Department of Transport, 1/14-18 Great Minster House, 33 Horseferry Road, London SW1P 4DR.

Two objectors state intention to withdraw & additional documents submitted at Inquiry
Objectors, McDonalds (OBJ/05) and Hotel La Tour (OBJ/12) have submitted letters stating that they are working toward agreements and expect to withdraw shortly.
The Applicant submitted the following documents during the Inquiry;
Replacement pages 17-20 for Bruce Fowler's proof of evidence on compulsory purchase and property matters (APP/P7.1)
Note explaining the modifications to the Draft Order (This was submitted at the Inspector's request)
Track changed version of the Order showing the consolidated changes against the original Draft Order submitted with the application
Updated Planning Conditions
All new documents have been added to the Inquiry library (version 16 of the Documents List).
The Inquiry is following the initial draft Inquiry programme, with the exception of the Modifications session, which was scheduled to be on Day 2 but was dealt with on Day 1.

The Inspector, Martin Whitehead, opened the Inquiry today at 10.00 at the Priory Rooms in Birmingham. Neil Cameron QC gave an opening statement on behalf of the Applicant, WMCA. The Inquiry is expected to last 2 days and close in the afternoon on Thursday 23 Nov 2017. If you wish to attend the Inquiry as an observer, please check with the Programme Officer before hand in case the Inquiry is running ahead of schedule. View the programme details.

The Applicant, WMCA, has submitted a note on compliance with the notification and publicity requirements of the TWA Rules.
Quintain (objector OBJ/07) has submitted a rebuttal to the proof of evidence by Bruce Fowler (one of the Applicant's witnesses) and confirmed that they do not wish to appear at the Inquiry. The Applicant does not intend to submit a written response to this rebuttal but will pick up any points within the matters raised with their witnesses.

An initial draft Inquiry programme has been published. This is based on the information currently available and is subject to change. Two objectors, Phoenix CSR Ltd and Quintain City Park Gate Birmingham Ltd, have asked to appear, however the Programme Officer is waiting for confirmation and further details regarding this. The programme may be amended to reflect any new information received.
